BELLEVUE YACHT CLUB HISTORY

History of the Bellevue Yacht Club

Bellevue Yacht Club was established in 1990 in Bellevue, Washington by Frank Lowe, Paul Acheson, and Hank Field; a group of boating enthusiasts who were looking for an opportunity to share their passion of boating with like-minded, cruising couples and families. Since then, the club has grown and evolved into a fun and active group that cruises around the Puget Sound throughout the year.

Bellevue Yacht Club is based out of Newport Yacht Basin; located on the east side of Lake Washington in Bellevue. The marina is a condominium association, the first of its kind in the United States, and was developed in 1975. The Seattle Boat Company operates the fuel dock and a boat yard service on site with haul out services for smaller boats. The city of Bellevue operates the public boat launch and next to the marina is the Newport Shores Yacht Club Marina, which is private.
